Hello, I’m Sina. Welcome to my website!

I’m a computational neuroscientist at the Francis Crick Institute in London, UK. My research is focused on understanding sensory systems as performing probabilistic inference.
I feel privileged to work in such a fascinating field, and on this site, I try to share some of that excitement. On my blog, Lateral Excitation you’ll find my notes on various topics related to computational neuroscience and machine learning, including expository pieces, reviews of journal articles, and notes from my day-to-day research. On my YouTube channel, I’ve mainly been reading through Bishop’s 2006 classic “Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning.” There are also some expository videos on related topics.
